Paintings inspired by Poems of Rose Ausländer

Writing meant living, was homeland in the exile for Rose Ausländer and Paul Celan. In her poems words found and invented depict realms of meaning and reflect moods – just like paintings try to convey and reveal an inner world.

Rose Ausländer was „affianced to death / enamored with life“.  You also could say that her life had become poetry „a rose made out of words“ – beguilingly beautiful and yet vulnerable / harming.
